Superficial peels remain a safe, effective choice for most acne conditions. But melasma, sun damage, and post-acne pigmentation often call for something stronger: a peel that can even out tone and texture.

What to expect: The first appointment takes roughly an hour. Subsequent ones are usually completed in 30-45 minutes. During the treatment you can definitely tell something is happening, but it is not at all painful. You will be on a specific protocol for seven days post treatment. People typically see active peeling on days 3-4, but it varies. Amount of peeling also varies, with some folks experiencing sheet peeling while others only see mild flaking. (Thursday is a popular day for the treatment, so you have the weekend to experience the most noticeable peeling.) At the end of the seven days you will be able to see a difference in your skin, but typically three peels, spaced at least four weeks apart, are necessary to see the biggest difference. Four to six peels are transformative. The peels reach the papillary dermis and stimulate collagen growth. It takes four weeks to see the results of that.
